Sunstar Paramedics is an ALS high-performance 911 system, serving more than 1 million people in Pinellas County, Florida, part of the Tampa Bay region. Highly awarded and accredited, Sunstar utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and software, and (along with parent company Paramedics Plus) is an innovator of the industry’s best practices.

Sunstar has received 24 organizational awards for excellence, innovation and initiative over the past 10 years, including the Florida Governor’s Sterling Award, which recognizes role models for organizational performance excellence. Sunstar Paramedics is heavily involved in Pinellas County communities, focusing largely on public safety and educational programs for residents and for schools. It offers classes for first aid, CPR, child passenger safety and other safety topics. The organization and its employees support local nonprofit events and causes including Safe Kids, Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA), Habitat for Humanity, Pinellas Hope, and Lighthouse of Pinellas for the blind.

Also, Sunstar runs a public safety awareness campaign called “Stay Alert, Stay Alive” that focuses on keeping Pinellas County residents safe. “Stay Alert, Stay Alive” aims to reduce the number of emergency situations and accidents in Pinellas County by providing prevention tips, safety resources, traffic information, and common-sense reminders through social media, a website and news coverage on “Studio 10,” Bay News 9 and other outlets.
