Vice President Operations Job Description

SUMMARY 

The Vice President Operations is responsible for the operational performance of AMUSA.  The VP Operations provides overall day-to-day management, leadership and direction to all staff.  Is responsible for the all aspects of the Company, including clinical and financial performance. A key element is to ensure continued growth of the Company: this requires the incumbent to be involved in marketing and business development initiatives to consolidate existing business, increase the client base, and expand into other areas.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

The VP Operations is expected to work autonomously with minimal supervision, to ensure operations are conducted in accordance with the approved Strategic Plan, Annual Business Plan and Budget.

The VP Operations is expected to keep the President regularly informed of routine activities and informed promptly of any significant issues, problems or unexpected deviations. The President may give guidance from time-to-time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensures the business is sustainably meeting its growth projections in accordance with the annual budget and guidance from the President and AMUSA Board.
  2. Develops Annual Business Plan and budget, consistent with the Strategic Plan.
  3. Maintains operations and operations’ related initiatives and processes that are consistent with the Annual Business Plan and Budget.
  4. Generates revenue through consistent growth of business, to include managing for profitable operations.
  5. Oversees customer contracting and negotiation, setting standardization and processes.
  6. Responsible for budget compliance, enforcement, and reporting.
  7. Maintains strong customer relations by meeting regularly with prospective and current clients in order to understand service issues, levels of client satisfaction, needs, etc.  Also to attend client functions and sponsorship activities.
  8. Leads the development and research for potential contracts and bids and acquisition opportunities.
  9. Leads the procurement and execution of facility contracts and insuring that contracts are updated as necessary to remain compliant regarding term and pricing.
  10. Coordinate with and oversee the activities of the Medical Director regarding Emergency Medical Technician personnel, policies and procedures, medical supplies and equipment.
  11. Ensure the Company and all staff comply with relevant local, state, and federal employment laws and company policies.

Requirements

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (preferred) or Registered Nurse
  • Masters’ Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Five (5) years’ clinical work experience, preferably in emergency or pre-hospital environment.
  • Five (5) years in a senior management role in a commercial organization, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Must have a VALID Texas Class “C” or higher Driver License.
  • Must be able to be insured by the employer’s motor vehicle insurance provider. Driving record must be approved prior to employment.
