VP Operations – COO in training                                                                   

Midwest Medical Transport seeks a seasoned operation professional to provide leadership and direction to 700+ field and operation personnel at multiple state/site locations. This person will be positioned to become the COO as company grows! This position is responsible for planning, organizing, prioritizing, assigning and directing daily operations including staff, M&A, inventory, fleet management, budgeting, reporting and compliance. Successful candidates will be experts in areas of leadership, operations management, communications and relationship building!

Midwest Medical Transport Company was founded in 1987 in Columbus, Nebraska. The company’s primary focus was inter-facility ambulance transportation. The company has grown from a small Nebraska based company to a multi-state operation with 40+ ground ambulance stations located in 10 states. Responsibilities VP of Operations Transportation Services:

  • The Vice President of Operations requires an in-depth understanding of how medical transportation organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide.
  • Provides medical interpretation and decisions about the appropriateness of services provided.
  • Duties include review policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Plans, organizes, monitors and evaluates the activities of the Administration, Operations both Air and Ground services to ensure delivery of emergency medical transportation.
  • Participates in the planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department. Lead and supervise multiple locations with relation to people and operations management.
  • Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of all locations. Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals.
  • Strategic planning and forecasting for all location.
  • Decisions are typically related to intra-departmental coordination, development and implementation of strategic plans, and business outcomes, and develops and implements strategic.

  • This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our growth while motivating others to meet challenges in a deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • 10 + years’ experience in Operations Management in the Medical Transport field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or 10 + years’ experience -MBA Preferred
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and operational efficiencies
  • Candidates must be flexible to travel as needed across the region
  • Experience with a 24-hour schedule and staffing fluctuations
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment
