TWO DIRECTOR POSITIONS AVAILABLE: EMT Program Director and Paramedic Program Director
The UCLA Center for Prehospital Care at the David Geffen School of Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking to fill two positions; EMT Program Director, and a Paramedic Program Director. Our expansion this past year has been the greatest we have seen in our 30-year history. It is due to this expansion we are seeking to hire for two critical positions! Both The EMT Program Director and the Paramedic Program Director will work closely with the Associate Director and the leadership team within the UCLA Center for Prehospital Care, including Baxter Larmon, Heather Davis, and David Page.
Program Directors provide primary didactic instruction to the student body as well as overall management of the traditional, hybrid, preparation, and refresher programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for all program aspects and outcomes including leading curriculum development, student evaluation in all domains, course, faculty, and staff supervision, program planning, budget oversight, teaching on campus, online, and at the bedside. Program Directors are student advocates in the learning process, create an active learning environment, and maintains a high level of industry competency. The incumbents will be responsible, creative, innovative, and ready to lead on day one.
EMT Program Director Qualifications
AA/AS degree (BA/BS preferred) in a health related field; certified as a Paramedic, RN, or PA with two-year’s experience in emergency medicine and eligible for CA licensure and LA County accreditation ;three years of progressive experience coordinating and managing multiple emergency medical education programs, with demonstrated knowledge in both primary EMT programs and online education.
Paramedic Program Director Qualifications
BA/BS (MA/MS or doctorate preferred) in a health related field; minimum of three-year’s experience as a full-time paramedic program director; current licensure as a paramedic, RN, PA or MD and eligible for CA licensure and LA County accreditation; demonstrated knowledge of program approval/accreditation requirements; three years relevant experience in management in a health education-related environment; three years relevant teaching experience to include primary paramedic education, curriculum development, classroom supervision, online education, and student performance evaluation.
