The Department of Emergency Health Services, University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is seeking applications for one full-time faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor to start Fall 2019.

UMBC is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a Research University with high research activity (RU/H). It is located in the Baltimore-Washington corridor near major medical schools, NIH, NHTSA, DHS, HHS, and other federal agencies that afford opportunities for research collaboration.

Responsibilities include teaching courses at the undergraduate level, serving as the Paramedic Program Director, and conducting scholarly activities in one or more of the following areas: emergency health/medical services, high-fidelity simulation, or community paramedicine.

This is a nine-month, non-tenure-track, full-time position.

The position requires at a minimum an earned master’s degree from an accredited institution in one of the following areas or related field:

  • Health services management
  • Public policy/administration
  • Public health

The successful candidate will have field experience in:

  • EMS management
  • Teaching
  • High-fidelity simulation
  • Publication
