Key Position Information:
Experience in EMS Education - i.e., Familiarity with National EMS Education Standards, Florida Administrative Code and state statutes regarding EMS and EMS education as well as CoAEMSP standards. Must possess A.S. in EMS in addition to a Bachelor’s Degree related to the teaching discipline and five years’ experience. Master’s Degree related to the discipline is preferred. Must be Florida state certified paramedic and possess Florida EMS Instructor Level A certification.
Must meet State of Florida Administrative Code 64J-1.0201 EMS Instructor Qualifications.
Teaching experience preferred for all instructor positions. Preferred 5 years prehospital (field) experience as a Paramedic in an ALS system.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Intermediate (minimum) level computer skills to include full MS Office 365 (includes OneDrive and Skype for Business) and Adobe Acrobat familiarity. Experience in online instruction (Desire2learn/Brightspace LMS). Previous experience/training with Quality Matters is a plus. Must possess current provider and instructor certifications (or be able to obtain prior to beginning instruction of students),
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
- International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) and/or Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
- AHA Pediatric Life Support (PALS) and/or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP)
